The New Year 2004 Men's Ba' was thrown up by Billy Jolly (Doonie winner New Year 1979) and won by Uppie Gordon Mulraine.

12:53 to 13:14 Billy made a fine throw into a large scrum which soon fetched up against the Kirk Green wall. After the centre collapsed and a spin across to the Town Hall, the Ba' returned to the Kirk Green wall where the Doonies had several strong attempts to push towards the sea, but were always thwarted by the Uppies.
